As many of you may have noticed recently, the Raiding The Globe website was unfortunately affected by a hacker attack. Following the incident, we immediately contacted our hosting provider and began taking the necessary security measures, HOWEVER...
Based on our investigation, the issue is primarily related to the website's current, now outdated technical system. While we are doing everything we can to address the damage and restore safe operation, in the long term this can only be properly ensured through a full "modernization" or complete rebuild of the system and its components/extensions.
It is important to emphasize that these steps are being taken for the safety of our visitors. In recent days, due to the security breach, our website has unintentionally redirected users to unsafe or potentially harmful external pages. Ensuring that this can no longer happen is one of our highest priorities moving forward.
Raiding The Globe has been running for nearly 10 years — and this October, it will celebrate its 10th anniversary. During this time, the site has collected a vast amount of news, images, guides, fan projects, and other unique materials that are difficult or impossible to find elsewhere. It is extremely important to us that these resources remain safely accessible in the future, and that the site continues to serve as a home for valuable community projects and reference materials.
It is also important to mention that for nearly a decade, the website has been entirely self-funded and completely ad-free. Maintaining and developing it has always been done out of passion, without any external financial support.
However, fully modernizing a website of this scale is a highly complex task that requires significant time, energy, and financial resources. At present, our available resources are limited, which may make it difficult—or even impossible—for us to begin the transition to a newer and more secure system. Support from the community would greatly help us begin this "modernization" as soon as possible and ensure a more sustainable future for the website.
