Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Season 2 Official Trailer

Netflix has released the official trailer for the second season of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, confirming a premiere date of December 11. The two-minute trailer offers the most in-depth look yet at what awaits Lara in what is set to be the final chapter of the animated series.

Season 2 picks up shortly after the explosive events of Season 1, which introduced a young Lara as she navigated the consequences of her early adventures. The new trailer wastes no time in raising the stakes: a trail of stolen African Orisha masks surfaces across the globe, each tied to ancient legends of extraordinary power. For Lara, this becomes more than a recovery mission — it's a race against an emerging force willing to do anything to harness the masks' hidden potential.

The return of Sam Nishimura forms the emotional backbone of the trailer. Instead of keeping their dynamic in the background, Season 2 positions Lara and Sam as partners whose loyalty and history drive the narrative forward. Their reunion is framed not as fan service, but as something vital, personal and necessary for the journey ahead. The trailer hints at both tension and warmth between the two, suggesting that the season will explore their bond just as deeply as its mythological mystery.

From lush jungles to bustling cities and the halls of private mansions, Lara and Sam follow leads that point to a powerful — and dangerously influential — billionaire who is determined to obtain the Orisha masks for her own ends. Every new location appears to build toward a bigger picture: the masks may do more than hold cultural significance. The trailer implies abilities bordering on the divine, and the fear of what could happen if such power falls into the wrong hands becomes a driving theme.

The series follows the events of the reboot/survivor trilogy - a canon continuation of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and has been animated by Powerhouse Animation which is behind Netflix's Castlevania anime series.
